Details: This position is responsible for the leadership, training, hiring, work schedules, and management of the Student Finance staff for Tinley Park, IL metro region which will serve graduate and undergraduate students. The position manages all on-campus processing and application of financial aid (federal, state, and/or institutional funding); provides outstanding customer service; prepares various daily, weekly and monthly reports; staff reviews; alternative loan applications; direct responsibility for the federal work study program and collection of accounts receivables. This position is appropriate for a campus/metro with enrollment of approximately 1800+ students. This position is responsible for the leadership, training, hiring, work schedules, and management of the Student Finance staff for a metro region which will serve graduate and undergraduate students. The position manages all on-campus processing and application of financial aid (federal, state, and/or institutional funding); provides outstanding customer service; prepares various daily, weekly and monthly reports; staff reviews; alternative loan applications; direct responsibility for the federal work study program and collection of accounts receivables. This position is appropriate for a campus/metro with enrollment of approximately 1800+ students.Provides leadership to the Student Central Department by effectively hiring, training, managing employee performance, and providing a positive work environment conducive to harmonious and productive outcomes.Establishes and promotes world class customer service practices and processes to assure student satisfaction levels through proactive student outreach.Communicates objectives, coordinates activities, directs personnel actions, including classification, recruiting, new hire actions, interviewing and selecting new staff, staff reviews, and salary determinations.Review all federal and state aid funding awarded to students in the metro for both graduate and undergraduate students.Ensures audit compliance with University and federal and state regulations including Title IV.Maintains a detailed understanding of federal, state and institutional financial aid policy and guidelines.  Contributes to the development of the annual departmental plan and designs a weekly, monthly, and quarterly list of priorities to measure performance.Responsible for the overall collection and reduction of A/R within the metro (graduate/undergraduate). Determines training requirements and communicates those to department trainer to effectively administer the Student Finance advising functions for the metro as well as partner locations.Coordinates and contributes to University processes as well as works closely with all departments, including DEM and AcademicsEstablishes mechanisms for tracking, reporting, and assessing outcomes such as accounts receivables, credit loads per student, start rates, customer satisfaction, financial advising and persistence for each team and individuals.Ensures timely awarding, authorization and disbursement of all state, federal and DeVry aid.Completes other projects and duties as assigned To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  Below are the minimum requirements of the education, experience, knowledge, and skills required to completely perform in this position.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred.At least 8 to 10 years of professional experience in student financial aid including 2 years of departmental management experience. Experience must be in an educational environment. Experience training/mentoring staff in financial aid and student account functions. Experience in application of federal regulations in the administration of financial aid programs.Experience in the application of FERPA laws in a college/university environment.Experience in the utilization of financial aid software such as ProSAM.
